Students were asked "what haunts you?" and to write a paragraph addressing this idea and make 5 photos that visually communicated their response. Luke's work confronts this inner voice, expressing feelings of failure, self doubt, and a drive to defeat his own fears through long exposure photography.

  • Brooke Bean, grade 3, "Relief Sculpture," crayon & glue on paper, 9x12 in. Brooke used analogous colors, or colors next to each other on the wheel, to help create her sculpture. After carefully coloring both sides of her paper, Brooke cut, folded, frayed, twisted, and curled her paper. She then carefully arranged and attached each of her pieces to a base paper to make her relief sculpture. I'm so proud of Brooke for her beautiful work. This project took time and patience. It's evident Brooke took her time to create such a well crafted piece.
