  • Rahul Kumar, grade 10, "Radial Flowers," digital print, 13x9 in. Students were asked to create a radial piece of artwork using their own photos, then copying, pasting, reflecting, and flipping them in Photoshop. Subsequent editing and refining is experimented with to create a symmetrical image. Rahul's use of sparse imagery in black and white has created an image evocative of a beautiful drawing in subtle grey tones.

  • Maverick Fox, grade 3, "Observational Drawing," pencil & crayon on paper, 9x12 in. Third grade students were asked to draw from observation. We studied values and practiced using our pencils to shade in order to make objects look three dimensional. Maverick's observation is a true sign of the times! He was able to look around his working space and notice so many details. Even his computer screen has his Zoom showing, with all of his classmates' smiling faces. Beautiful use of observation in your drawing, Mav!
