Tabernacle may seem like a departure from the rest of Arlene’s work shared here. In Arlene’s own words:
“I painted this to help emerge from my grief after the death of two of my seven siblings within months of each other. My quest for prayer and peace merged in that mess of red and yellow, and in that very dark, dark shape that forever meant…gone. This was my real test of love and faith.”
