Students listened to a whimsical story about how a boat floats on a river through environments like a city, a farm, or forest. Using collage technique, students created their own environment for their boat to float through. What makes Lola’s “river” stand out is how she cut the waves to make the river look like rough water and her attention paid to coloring the buildings in the background as well as texture to the hills in the foreground.
