ARTificial Intelligence

November 30, 2024 - January 12, 2025

Beginning Nov. 30, the Zullo Gallery launches its newest exhibit, “ARTificial Intelligence,” featuring the latest work of local children’s book author/illustrator, David Biedrzycki, along with two special “live with Dave” events, including an artist demonstration/talk, and readings of his book for families.

“ARTificial Intelligence” tells the story of a robot who is struggling to fit in with his fellow warehouse workers. When he’s sent off for reprogramming, he takes a wrong turn and ends up encountering music, dancing, and ART! The robot not only discovers a world of creativity, but his own artistic talents and a connection to others.

Beyond the exhibit to showcase Biedrzycki’s creative talents, the Zullo Gallery will make his picture book come to life in a variety of special ways:

  • At the Holiday Stroll on Friday, Dec. 6, Biedrzycki’s work will make the Zullo Gallery an extra-special stop, with surprises in store!
  • On Sunday, Dec. 15 from 2 to 4 p.m., Biedrzycki will demonstrate his illustration techniques and discuss his creative process at this free gallery event.
  • On Sunday, Jan. 5, the Zullo will host Biedrzycki for two ticketed events where he will entertain audiences with a live read aloud of “ARTificial Intelligence,” sign copies of the book, and be available for photos with any of the illustrations that line the gallery walls. Tickets are on sale for either a 1 p.m. or 3 p.m. session. Cost is $15 per person, or $50 for a family of four. A limited number of tickets for each read-aloud session are available via www.ticketsource.us/zullo-gallery-center-for-the-arts.
  • Through Sunday, Jan. 12, the Zullo exhibit of Biedrzyci’s illustrations is open free to the public during the regular Saturday and Sunday gallery hours of 12 to 5 p.m. All of the illustrations in the exhibit are available for purchase and autographing by Biedrzycki.
  • A town-wide “robot scavenger hunt” will soon be launched with details to be available on the Zullo Gallery Facebook page, through the gallery e-mail list, and other media channels.
