The art of the album cover has been somewhat replaced recently by stand-alone graphics for downloadable mp3 files. Through creating a never-released album for an artist, students learn the history of album cover art in a real, hands-on way through digital design. Emery’s work shows an investigative and experimental process, beginning as sketches and sculpture, photographed and then edited in Photoshop to create a provocative image that visually communicates the feeling of the music.
